The Young Fables are the promising modern traditional country music duo comprised of American Idol veteran Laurel Wright and talented guitarist and vocalist Wesley Lunsford. The act is well known for their appearance on Real Country featuring Shania Twain. The musicians hail from Maryville, Tennessee, and came out of the gate with impressive accomplishments, including winning the Grand Prize at the Texaco Country Showdown, which landed Wright on the venerated Ryman Auditorium stage in Nashville at age 16.
Rolling Stone has called the Young Fables’ music “simple and heartbreakingly direct” and Grammy Award winner Sheryl Crow said of Wright: “She’s as good as any country singer out there.” The duo has released three full-length albums and have filmed a documentary, The Fable of a Song, which chronicles their songwriting process and the life-changing events the band experienced in 2018.
