Joey Burns of Calexico

Joey Burns is the singer and principal songwriter for the Tucson, Arizona-based Calexico. Named for the border town of Calexico, California, the band has been playing its unique mix of American indie rock and Latin musical styles for more than 20 years. The band’s sound, often dubbed "desert noir," pulls from a multitude of traditions, primarily American folk and Latin dance. With over 11 studio albums to their credit, Calexico is known for their captivating live shows, headlining premier venues and festivals around the world.
